Repair Windows with Windows Repair Tool

Many of you may have used our FixWin – Windows Repair Tool. Here is another tool that will help you repair your Windows installation should you ever feel the need to. Windows Repair Tool guides you at every step of the repair process. In 5 consecutive steps, it offers options to undertake tasks to repair your Windows computer.

In Step 1, it suggests that you first scan your system for malware using Malwarebytes, TDSS Rootkit Remover and/or Microsoft Security Essentials.

Step 2 consists of running the Check Disk utility
In the next step if offers to run the System File Checker.
In the penultimate step it asks you to create a system restore point, since the next step would involve making changes to your syste.
Having done that, you click on Next to reach the final Repairs tab. The tool offers Basic, Advanced and Custom Mode. I recommend that you use the Custom Mode, so that you know, what changes you are making, exactly.
Selecting Custom Mode and clicking Start will offer you various repair options.

The options include:
  • Reset Registry Permissions
  • Reset File Permissions
  • Register System Files
  • Repair WMI
  • Repair Windows Firewall
  • Repair Internet Explorer
  • Repair MDAC & MS Jet
  • Repair Hosts File
  • Remove Policies Set By Infections
  • Repair Icons
  • Repair Winsock & DNS Cache
  • Remove Temp Files
  • Repair Proxy Settings
  • Unhide Non System Files
  • Repair Windows Updates.
Select all or choose only the one’s you feel you need. What each option does, has been explained in the side window. Click Start – you may have to wait for a while for the tool to complete its job.
Do note that I have not tried out this tool!
You can download the tool from here. (UPDATE: While my NOD32 did not report anything, please read the comments below, before you decide to download it).
